About Us

History of the Church:

This was printed in the 2007 church cookbook, written by Bro. Eddie Hartfield.

As we take a look back, it is very evident that God has kept a watchful eye over the little country church that we know and love as Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. Since her humble beginning, somewhere around 1875, this Church has weathered many storms and withstood countless attacks from the great adversary the devil. “Upon this rock / will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” Matthew 16:18.

In recent years, Macedonia has grown and united love, grace, knowledge, and spirit as never before. Because of this, God has opened the windows of heaven and blessed above measure. As the Older generation moves on to that “Heavenly Home,” they are leaving the younger  generation a legacy of endurance to stand strong in the Lord, and the power of his might.

Through the years, many changes have taken place. We no longer have to hover around a wood heater in the winter nor do we in the summer have to open windows and bring out the funeral home fans. Yes, many sacrifices have been made by those long gone, but it has been worth it all. Macedonia has fought a good fight, kept the faith, and one glorious day when her course here is finished, God will call her home.
